Week 4, Fourth Sunday in Advent, Year A

Notes:
Found it difficult to find a visual for this week's reading. Usually I've sketched out several ideas while reading, and one of them proves worth pursuing. But that didn't happen during this reading. Only visual that came to me was for Matthew 1:20, in which Joseph is visited by an angel in his dreams. In particular what stood out most was the line from the angel, "do not be afraid."

Week 3, Third Sunday in Advent, Year A

Psalm: Psalm 146:5-10 or Luke 1:47-55
Epistle: James 5:7-10
New Testament: Matthew 11:2-11

Notes:
Found my inspiration in the Epistle again! James 5:7 "Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains."

Week 2, Second Sunday in Advent, Year A

Psalm: Psalm 72:1-7, 18-19
Epistle: Romans 15:4-13
New Testament: Matthew 3:1-12

Notes:
I liked a line in the Epistle reading again, the last one of the reading in Romans, chapter 15 verse 13... "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Would make a simple, wonderful prayer.

Week 1, First Sunday in Advent, Year A

Wanted too much detail for the little time that I had to create. Tried to create the visual in both oil pastel and ink (the latter is above). I liked the visual in Romans 13... "put on the armor of light" and "put on the Lord Jesus Christ".
